Plovers, limicolous birds freshly arrived from their African wintering grounds, are back at Cordouan. Indeed, they have chosen the vast expanses of sand off Cordouan to build their nests.

The 44th session of the World Heritage Committee and its 21 member states have just decided: the Cordouan lighthouse has been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List!

Cordouan joins other sites such as the Taj Mahal, the Grand Canyon or the Great Wall of China on the prestigious List, which designates properties of exceptional interest for the common heritage of humanity.

Nicolas T. Camoisson, photographer and calligrapher, is invited to take up a residency at Cordouan from May 28 to June 6, 2021. 10 days at the lighthouse, isolated between land and sea, to allow him to feed his artistic creation project on the theme of the sea.

To reveal its signature and assert its values, Cordouan plays it 2.0!
